Ongoing Initiatives

Soulard -Meals on Wheels

Devotees prepare, package and deliver freshly cooked vegetarian dishes to the Senior’s Center in Soulard.

Delmar Gardens Nursing Home

Adult devotees ,SSE children and their furry friends spend an afternoon visiting the elderly and entertaining them with games of bingo and songs of all tunes. Devotees bring joy to the seniors by also distributing prizes and providing snacks to satisfy that sweet tooth. Gentle caring means a lot of Sai love.

The Shriner’s Children’s Hospital

Adult devotees and SSE children over 14 years of age experience and witness children who are hospitalized for acute and chronic illnesses. The devotees see first-hand how sharing Swami’s love by giving snacks and doing craft projects with these children help keep a smile on their face, despite the physical pain they endure.

Be on the lookout for eyes filled with tears and hearts filled with sighs.

Men’s Homeless Shelter

Every November through April, male devotees spend an evening at the Men’s Homeless Shelter. From donations through center devotees , volunteers distribute pizza, fruits, clothing and personal care items during these months.

Gateway Homeless Service

Every 3rd Sunday of the month, devotees meet at the shelter to prepare and serve breakfast for the residents, and help prepare and serve breakfast for the residents. This project is in conjunction with another church.

Soup Kitchen Project

Every Sunday, devotees, in conjunction with church volunteers, meet and prepare breakfast to those in need.

Easter Pantry Project

Two weeks prior to Easter, devotees gather to deliver items to The Holy Trinity Church.

Janmashtami Pantry Project

Two weeks prior to Janmashtami, devotees gather donations and  deliver  to the Circle of Concern Food Pantry.

Medical Camp at our Holy Trinity Parish Center

One Saturday annually, center members, doctors, healthcare providers, interpreters and hundreds of volunteers lend their time, knowledge and resources to provide free medical services for anyone desiring it. The medical camp offers bone marrow drive, helmet and car seat fitting, along with multiple other medical testing.

Thanksgiving Food Bags for Homebound Seniors

During the annual Thanksgiving season, devotees prepare packages to deliver to homebound seniors in the Soulard area.

Swami’s Birthday

On the auspicious day of November 23rd, as a celebration of Swami’s birthday, devotees serve lunch to the homeless at the New Life Evangelical Center. In addition, devotees, also provide and deliver warm dinner to the NLEC, who distribute it to the residents.

Christmas Project at Gateway Homeless Shelter

Spreading Christmas cheer is one of the greatest joys devotees get to experience. Families from the Center donate wrapped gifts for kids from infancy to teens. The morning begins with preparing and serving fresh breakfast, followed by singing the Christmas jingles and rounding out the festivities from a surprise visit from Jolly Ole St.Nick himself to distribute the presents.
